The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch

The Shoreditch sister to Camden’s The Blues Kitchen is a sleek update of rough and ready American blues bars, covering two floors of a Victorian warehouse.

The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch’s interior design was crafted by The Columbo Group, who have combined London sensibilities with traditional blues-style motifs for a textured, layered scheme.

The exposed walls, ceilings, and floors, really benefit from the atmospheric coloured lighting, which needs neutral palettes such as these for the best effect.

The lighting also complements the furniture, which incorporates accents of blues, purples, and pinks into the overall scheme, reminding customers that this is a very British take on a bar/restaurant, regardless of the American trappings.

Mirror balls and a vintage silver Airstream caravan add to The Blues Kitchen’s eclecticism, which is completed by the centrepiece island bar (built by tiling expert Craven Dunnill Jackfield) featuring an impressively gargantuan live lobster tank.

The artwork dotted throughout the venue has been sourced from Hatch Show Print, a prestigious letterpress print house based in Nashville, which has produced posters for celebrated musicians – including Elvis. This adds a nice authentic twist to the bar and another touch of colour.
