British Council for Offices Awards

The British Council for Offices has revealed the winners of its national awards, highlighting the most contemporary and fabulous office interiors around.

The awards have been running annually since 1992, recognising the ‘best and most innovative’ workplaces in the UK and awarding them for ‘visionary office design and functionality’.

The first office pictured belongs to Arthur J Gallagher, an insurance broker firm in the Walbrook building in London. Winning ‘Best Fit Out’, the office incorporates two spacious atria, which use simple geometry and transparent blue screens for a futuristic-style office. The supersized signature of their founder is a gorgeous heritage touch to the wall, tying old and new together. If you like geometry, have a look at the Muraspec geometrics range.

The second office could be mistaken for a house, given its warm, earthy, and homely vibe. The office, which belongs to developer Argent, won the award for projects up to 2,000 sqm, and it’s easy to see why. The textured brick combined with the open kitchen and fruit bowls add a warm feel to the simple, but layered, design.
