A restaurant inspired by citrus groves

The JW Marriott Absheron Baku hotel in Azerbaijan has been given a fresh new restaurant that offers all-day dining in modern, luxurious surroundings.

Inspired by the region’s verdant citrus groves, ZEST is a colourful and contemporary dining area designed by Henry Chebaane from Blue Sky Hospitality.

The vibrant palette is strengthened by the understated backdrop of pale wood, marble, and stainless steel, providing a contemporary design staple on which greens, golds, and oranges burst into life.

The shape of the furniture is subtly reminiscent of citrus fruits, with natural-hued modernist chairs curving languidly at key points throughout the space.

Ornamental floor lamps look stunning dotted about ZEST, with golden light shining through their intricate winding structures.

Chebaane has also created two large installations for the restaurant: VITAMIN SPRITZ is a striking artwork made of translucent citrus-coloured stars suspended from the ceiling, while DUCK MARMALADE consists of 1500 rubber ducks floating in a pool in the centre of the restaurant.
