Muraspec understands the importance of the environment to us all and in recent years we have taken action to reduce our impact and to give customers real choice as to how they can meet their environmental and product performance needs.

Alternative Products
We offer a selection of designs for those who prefer the option of non-vinyl products, including the revolutionary new ECORE range. Featuring a non-pvc substrate, printed with water based inks and with a soft and textile-like feel and appearance, ECORE is Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certified for its low VOC emissions.
Carbon Footprint & Energy Usage Reduction
We have reduced our carbon emissions by 22% since 2004, exceeding the Kyoto reduction target of 12.5% and the UK government's stretch target of 20% by 2010. We are determined to continue to improve our environmental performance and to reduce our carbon footprint still further.
Using Resources Wisely
Reduce - using Lean manufacturing and six sigma programmes we have reduced the amount of waste product in the manufacturing process by 30%.
Reuse - we believe we are the first wallcovering manufacturer in the world to produce a wallcovering using fully recycled product without the need to add weight or vinyl film to the process. Launched in 2008 our minimum 30% recycled content range uses previously unusable industrial waste which would otherwise have gone to landfill. Our recycled content range has now been extended to a selection of both existing and new Fabric Backed wallcovering designs including Ruben, Metropolitan, Atlanta and Corduroy.
Recycle - we are offering customers the possibility of returning post-use wallcovering material for recycling when they order new wallcoverings.

Environmental concerns are complex and there is no one simple or single answer. We're committed to providing reliable and independent information to help our customers make an informed decision that's right for their specific project.
ISO 14001 - In 2004 our manufacturing site achieved this exacting and internationally recognised environmental standard, independent verification that we comply with the latest regulations across all aspects of our business.

Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) - enables an understanding of the environmental impacts of products from 'cradle to grave'. We have also invested in LCA modelling software which will enable us to explore the environmental benefits of product and process developments.
